Spending Account Tracker
This tracker is designed to help you pace your everyday spending. If you indicate on your Account Schedules (see below) that you plan to organize/transfer your money once a month, it paces your spending for the next 30 days. If you plan to organize/transfer your money twice a month, it paces your spending for the next 15 days.
To calculate approximately how much money you can spend each day, Otto takes the current available balance in your Spending Account (represented by the green bar) and divides it by the number of days remaining of the 15 or 30 days.
Otto updates your bank balances each time you log in to your account. You can also manually update your bank balances by clicking the refresh arrows in the top right corner of the screen.
Otto calculates your Available Balances by subtracting your assigned credit card charges from your current bank balance/sub-balance.
Hover over the calculator icons to see the available balance calculations for each of your accounts.
Moving money between sub-accounts
If desired, you can move money between sub-accounts.
Click the Edit button in the top right corner of the Available balances or Credit Card tracker panels.
Select the sub-account you would like to move money from.
Choose the sub-account you would like to move money to.
(Both sub-accounts must be associated with the same bank account).
Enter the amount of money you want to move and click move.
Credit Card Tracker
The Credit Card Tracker focuses on the two areas that have the highest impact on your credit score.
Otto ensures that your credit card balances are covered so you can always make your credit card payments on time.
Otto monitors your credit utilization so you can keep it in the Good - Excellent range.
The sub-balance of your Credit Card Payoff Account adjusts as you assign your credit card charges to your other accounts. (See the Credit Card page for more information on assigning charges.)
The goal is for the difference between your Credit Card Payoff Account and the current balances of your credit card(s) to be zero. This indicates that all of your credit card charges are covered.
0 - 10 % Excellent
11 - 30 % Good
31 - 50 % Average
51 - 100 % Below Average
Account Schedules allow you to create lists of bills, estimates or savings goals to help you determine how to organize your money.
On your Bills Account Schedule you can indicate if you plan to organize your income once or twice a month. If you get paid every two weeks you may choose to organize your income twice a month. Or, you may choose to just wait and organize your income once a month.
To add an item to an account schedule:
Click “Add Schedule Item”
Enter a description of the item
Enter the frequency. You can choose Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly. You can also add a target date.
Based on the information provided in the account schedules, Otto will calculate the amount you will allocate into your accounts each time you organize your money.
For your reference, you can also add an approximate due date (for Monthly or Quarterly items) or month (for Yearly items) if desired.
