Using Venmo/Paypal etc.

Sending money

You and your friends are going to a concert together.

You Venmo your friend $80  to cover the price of the ticket she purchased for you. 

The $80 will come directly out of your Bills Account (see Flow of money).

You will need to move money into the Bills Account to cover this payment. 

Here's how:

  1. On the Dashboard, click 'Edit' on the Available Balances panel.​

  2. Choose the account that will cover this payment.

  3. Select your Bills Account to receive this money.

  4. Enter the amount.

  5. Click "Move"

  6. That's it! The payment is covered!

Receiving money

You and your friends are going to a concert together.

Your friends Venmo you $80 each to cover the price of the tickets you purchased for them on your credit card. 

You transfer this $160 into your checking account. 

When it arrives, this money will go into your Income Account (see Flow of money).

You will need to move this money into the account that will cover the credit card charge.

Here's how:

  1. On the Dashboard, click 'Edit' on the Available Balances panel.​

  2. Select your Income Account with the reimbursed money in it.

  3. Choose the account where you will assign this reimbursement.

  4. Enter the amount.

  5. Click "Move"

  6. That's it!  Your money is where it needs to be.

You can only move money between sub-accounts associated with the same bank account.  If you need to move money from your Primary Checking sub-account to a Primary Savings sub-account or visa versa, you will need to transfer that money at your bank or credit union.
